Every so often, a country is hosting a sporting event and get thousands of people gathering to witness the best athletes on earth. The whole world is watching from home what is happening in that country.
Whether it is the World Cup, the Olympics, national tournaments, etc.., that is where we believe we have to mobilize and maximize the opportunity for others to know Jesus through our service.
During the 2008 Beijing Olympics, we had the opportunity to be part of a private ceremony held to honor the Argentine athletes represent us in China.
In 2010, for two consecutive months, we were part of the World Cup in South Africa where we offered football clinics and work in the prevention of human trafficking in Johannesburg and Pretoria.
In 2011, the America’s Cup was held in Argentina and we were visiting some churches in every place were the Cup was host doing different evangelistic activities, with giant screens, evangelism in the stadiums, soccer clinics, etc.
In 2012 we participated in the Olympic Games in London collaborating with «More Than Gold», a ministry that works with evangelism during sporting events. We were part of the program that hosted the families of the athletes for free.
We therefore believe that an event like this is very important as it provides thousands of ways we can work with other ministries and make both athletes and spectators, reached with the Gospel message.
